Changeling Pirate token drawing WIP 1

This drawing is based off of Smee to go along with the Disney art style for my pirates deck. Changelings are shapeshifters in Magic The Gathering that are often pictured with some goo that explains how they shapeshift. The dog head is based on the Labrador Retriever from 101 Dalmatians.

Brawling Pirates

*I made this drawing for a custom sleeve design for my Admiral Beckett Brass thief/treasure commander deck. I chose to do this drawing in a Disney Style because Peter Pan was one of the first things that came to mind when I thought about pirates. In this drawing I drew Admiral Beckett Brass fighting Ragavan the monkey pirate.
*Made with a mechanical pencil, plastic eraser, kneaded eraser, Pitt artist pens Prismacolor Marker, colored pencils, grey fine point pen, and Snapseed
*Time: about 7 hours, 40 minutes and 30 sec over the course of 3 days

Brawling Pirates WIP 1

My plan for this drawing is to draw Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, and Admiral Beckett Brass in a Disney art style, so I based them on Abu and Captain Hook. I plan on changing how the legs and feet look, I just wanted to draw them like Captain Hook for the pose, and since this is not Captain Hook, he doesn’t have a hook for a hand or a pointy mustache. I’m making this for my pirates deck, and Admiral Beckett Brass is the commander of that commander deck.

Samurai Dog

*This is a kamigawa neon dynasty and ghost of tsushima crossover parody. I really like the ukiyo-e basic lands in kamigawa neon dynasty so I decided to try and do a drawing in that style of a Samurai Shiba Inu. In the Samurai’s hand is Sensei’s Divining Top, which is a card from kamigawa that if you didn’t know is a wallet flex card. This was also my first time drawing a Samurai, my first time drawing a Shiba Inu furry,  my first time digitally adding a foreign language to my art, and my first time doing a ghost of tsushima fan art drawing. I made this drawing as a custom sleeve design for my Isshin, Two Heavens as One Dash and Goad Deck.
*Made with a mechanical pencil, plastic eraser, kneaded eraser,  Pitt artist pens, Prismacolor Marker 005, watercolor pen, gel pen, GIMP, and Snapseed.
*Time: about 6 hours and 30 minutes over the course of 4 days

Samurai Dog WIP 2

This is the second post I’ve made on the progress of this drawing. He’s holding Sensei’s Divining Top, which is a card from Kamigawa with a price tag high enough that I’d rather spend cash on custom card sleeves referencing it, as it’s a wallet flex card and I don’t have a card in a deck I’m working on right now that combos with it so it feels like if I get it at the moment I’d be wasting cash on frivolous spending. Yeah, I got sucked into an expensive hobby but I don’t mind spending cash as long as it doesn’t stop me from spending cash on my needs instead of my wants. One of my favorite things about this hobby is that you can win a game against someone with an expensive deck if your deck with your cheaper deck if your deck exploits that deck’s weakness.

Samurai Dog WIP 1

I haven’t been posting lately because I’ve been trying to figure out what it is that I want to do with my time, which mainly has consisted of moving cards around in my Magic the Gathering decks. I plan on posting more often than I have been. This is a drawing I’m making for a custom sleeve design for my Isshin, Two Heavens as One Dash and Goad Deck. This drawing is a kamigawa neon dynasty and ghost of tsushima crossover parody. I really like the ukiyo-e basic lands in kamigawa neon dynasty so I decided to make a ukiyo-e / anime style Samurai Shiba Inu. I have plans for doing more drawing for custom drawings for my current decks, and I plan on finishing what I was trying to do for the Inktober 2020 art challenge which is to make a custom card mat image from combining my Magic the gathering fan art drawings together
